Elizabeth Jensen is a therapist with a Master degree in Clinical Social Work. She is registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers and the Social Work Association of Alberta. Her practice is located in downtown Lethbridge. She is currently accepting adolescent and adult clients

Elizabeth specializes in grief and loss therapy and has training and experience in the treatment of prolonged, complicated, and traumatic grief. Death can often be the cause of our grief, but we can grieve jobs, relationships, religions, or any kind of change in our life. Elizabeth's practice is a place rebuild after loss, and to unpack the pain it has left us with.

Trauma and grief are often connected. Elizabeth's practice is trauma-focused and grounded in polyvagal and somatic frameworks.

Mental health is a loaded concept! Elizabeth is careful with the ways that diagnosis and labels can help us one moment and then limit us in the next. Let's build your story of mental wellbeing in a way that centers your values. This practice is interested social and power conscious practices that empower groups who have been marginalized by the mental health system such as BIPOC, Queer, and Transgender clients.

Elizabeth has worked in acute healthcare for several years and understands how healthcare workers might accumulate experiences of moral distress, burnout, vicarious trauma, and secondary traumatic stress. This practice is a safe space for healthcare providers to unpack and process their experiences in the healthcare system with a therapist that gets it. No perfect healthcare workers allowed!
